“I waited a long time to finally go for my 200-hr. training and I am so glad I did! I truly believe I needed to wait for this beautiful experience to be offered. Nicole’s passion for yoga manifests into this thorough, mindful, and applicable deep dive into all things yoga. In my training, a group of strangers became a collective that supported and inspired one another. I feel so much more confident in myself as a student and a teacher of yoga. So grateful to Nicole for this life altering experience!”
YTT Online Component
Lecture material that we expect you'll want to take notes on, listen back to and revisit over time will be kept in our online portal which you'll have access to for long beyond our training time. Hands-on material, practice teaching, group exercises, etc. will be saved for in-person.
Our online component lives inside of a platform that you'll receive access to upon registration and can move through at your own pace. We suggest finishing this material prior to the in-person component, but it is not required. The online component hours mostly consist of anatomy, history, philosophy and some practice hours inside of the Kula membership page (which you'll receive access to upon registration.)

Yoga Teacher Training can be for anyone interested in deepening their practice – whether or not they intend to become a teacher. If you have a ping of curiosity, we invite you to join us! We ask that you have at least 1-2 years of dedicated and consistent practice experience prior to attending. Our in-person yoga curriculum includes long + full days of practice and study, and all hours are required to receive your certificate. We ask that you be conditioned to attend all training sessions and lecture hours.
Yes! Upon completing the online and in-person components of training, you’ll receive a certificate from the Collective School of Yoga which can be submitted to Yoga Alliance.
Teacher trainings are educational offerings, meaning that excursions and free time are minimal. Our time is spent engaging with the yoga material and curriculum specific to that training. All hours must be attended in order to receive the certificate associated with the training. Some of our trainings also include an online component to complete the course hours. Our Trainings are Yoga Alliance certified.
Your payment includes your yoga training tuition, accommodation at the incredible Oliveto Estate, all meals, and transport to and from the airport in Rome.
Not included in your retreat cost are your flights, extra snacks, drinks or meals away from the group, and massages or other spa treatments. We encourage you to tip our retreat/resort staff upon check-out.
We encourage that you’ve had a regular and dedicated yoga practice for at least a year before registering for a teacher training.
Yes! Upon registration, we’ll collect information about your dietary needs to pass along to our chef for the week. We do need to know this information in advance of the training in order to accommodate your needs best.
Our days are long and the schedule is full so that we can offer you as much as possible. However, we are sure to incorporate breaks into the training. If you’re interested in dedicated exploration time, we suggest planning for some extra travel before/after training to see Italy!
Yes! We will offer one shuttle to and from Rome. We highly encourage you to take this shuttle, though you are also welcome to arrange your own transport.
We ask that you only book if you’re confident that you’ll be able to attend the training. Deposits are non-refundable, and further payments can only be refunded if we are able to fill your spot with another attendee. If you have an emergency or extenuating circumstance, we’ll work with you on a one-on-one basis to move you to another training or give a partial refund. We are required to pay all vendors (venue, chef, etc.) whether you join or not, so we cannot offer refunds in all circumstances.
We encourage you to come early or stay late if you wish to! We’d love to recommend local hotels, restaurants, etc. if you choose to extend your stay. However, we cannot provide any accommodation or transportation for you. We’ll have a designated ‘check-in’ and ‘check-out’ window of time at our venue, which will be communicated to you prior to booking your flights.
In the months prior to the training start, we’ll start a WhatsApp group chat for everybody to be able to connect. You can use this chat as a tool to meet other attendees, find a travel buddy, or just stay in-the-know with updates that we’ll put in the chat before and during the training.
Oliveto Estate has mats and props for us to use, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
We will continue to monitor and update our policies around COVID. At this time, we ask that all retreat and training attendees take an at-home test in the 48 hours prior to retreat start and send us a photo of your negative result. You are responsible for understanding the COVID policies around your own travel to and from the retreat — as every country, airline, and flight route has different expectations around testing, vaccination status, etc. Let us know if you need help navigating these requirements. If anyone were to show symptoms for COVID during the training, we’d ask you to take an at-home test. If this test were to come back positive, we’d help you find a place to quarantine away from the group. You are responsible for any extra costs associated with booking extra accommodations in this scenario, though we’ll do our best to minimize these costs and keep you on-site if possible without exposing others.
We offer a new lineup of yoga retreats and yoga teacher trainings each year, and we are creating brand new offerings frequently. We typically open registration for the next year’s retreats sometime around November, but occasionally add in other retreats, trainings, workshops, etc throughout the year. Make sure to join our mailing list and follow along on Instagram @thecollectivekula for all of the details on our upcoming offerings and availability.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, but please note that all payments made towards our retreats and trainings are non-refundable. However, if you need to cancel your attendance, we may be able to transfer you to a different retreat or training on a case-by-case basis. This is only possible if we are able to refill your cancelled space. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel your attendance. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and find a solution that works for everyone involved, but ask that you only register if you fully plan to attend.

Each retreat is unique, so be sure to check into the details of the specific retreat you’re looking at. However, all of our retreats include quality accommodations for the duration of the retreat, as well as meals and all yoga offerings throughout. Most include excursions throughout the week, but we’ll be clear in our messaging if this is not the case for any particular retreat. We do our best to include transportation to and from the retreat venue - especially if hosting in a remote area.
The main thing not included in a Kula retreat is your travel to and from, including flights and any nights before or after the retreat that you stay nearby. Some of our retreat schedules leave a few meals open/not included so that you can go experience local restaurants and have your own choice of what you eat. In more remote locations, we include all meals. Any additional snacks, meals, travel, etc. that is not a part of the retreat schedule will not be included. Some retreats have additional add-on excursions available for an extra charge, and we’ll be clear in our messaging when these are not included in the retreat cost
Yes! We work with chefs who are experienced and comfortable accommodating all dietary needs including vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, nut-free, etc. We’ll collect your dietary needs upon registration. Please note that our retreats do allow for attendees to eat meat and/or drink alcohol up to your own discretion and as far as is respectful and mindful of the group.
Each retreat schedule is unique, but all will have a minimum of one practice per day. Most days include a second practice or workshop. Our practices range from 60-90 minutes and include asana, pranayama, meditation and journaling. We incorporate workshops such as arm balance + inversions, backbends, or meditation in many of our retreat schedules.
We incorporate excursions unique to the area that we’re visiting. Past retreats have included surfing in Panama, hiking in the French Alps, Wine tasting in Cape Town and island hopping by boat in Portugal. These excursions are almost always included (but always optional) in your retreat pricing. Select retreats are priced lower, but offer excursions as an add-on on-site. We’ll be clear in our messaging about this upon registration.
All retreats include free time throughout the week for you to relax, nap, explore, add-on excursions, or anything else you desire. We will go over the retreat schedule for the week upon arrival.
Most of the time, yes. We try to offer a complimentary shuttle option for the group to the venue, especially for more remote retreat locations. We’ll send a welcome packet upon registration that includes all of your travel need-to-knows.
We try to book venues that have yoga mats and props, but some of our more remote locations do not supply these. We’ll let you know upon booking if you need to bring your own mat!
It is always recommended that you book travel insurance, though we do not require it.
We require a non-refundable deposit to book your spot. Your final payment is due 90-days prior to the retreat start, and is also non-refundable once paid. We are only able to refund canceled spaces in the event that we can fill your space with another attendee. Contact us if you’d like to set up a payment plan!
Yes! We welcome anyone to join in on retreat, unless noted as a specifically women-only offering. If you join alone but register for a shared room, we’ll pair you with somebody of the same gender. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you would like to discuss the best rooming options for you.
Of course! You can join alone, with friends, with family, with a partner, or however you like. Many people join alone - and we always love to watch the friendships that build throughout the course of the week together.
Maybe, depending on the retreat. We ask that attendees keep consumption intentional and with awareness of the needs of the group. Prior retreats have included wine tasting in France and Cape Town, or trying the local wines of Portugal paired with dinner.
Some of our retreats include a 3-day add-on experience. These are not yoga-related events, but an additional travel experience to see a different area of the country we’re exploring. As an example, after our Panama retreat, some of our group spent 3 days on a Catamaran boat exploring the San Blas Islands together. We highly value intentional travel and outward exploration and play, and we love to see the world with you! These add-on experiences are often limited in space and offered only to those who have attended the retreat.
All deposits are non-refundable as these are used immediately to support the planning and prepping process of the retreat. If you must cancel after making your final payment, we can only offer you a refund if we are able to fill your space with another attendee. We are responsible for paying our venues + vendors for your space regardless of whether you join. The sooner you can let us know of your cancellation, the more likely we will be able to fill your space and therefore work with you on a possible refund or transfer to a different retreat.
